For over 30 years New Bedford Ballet (NBB) has offered a complete and structured
program of training in ballet for students ages three through adult. Within an
atmosphere of inclusivity, professionalism, and creativity, NBB promotes personal,
physical, and artistic student growth through teamwork, dedication, passion, and
commitment. We seek to build self-confidence while inspiring excellence.

Programs Offered

New Bedford Youth Ballet – The New Bedford Youth Ballet is a company of intermediate and advanced dancers, ages 11 to 18 years, who are interested in developing their performance skills by participating in extracurricular dance programs. The catalyst to fulfilling our mission, the New Bedford Youth Ballet, performs at myriad venues throughout the South Coast, primarily by invitation. Each fall, open auditions for the Youth Ballet are held at New Bedford Ballet. Candidates need not be NBB students.  The dancers selected for the company typically spend one or two days each week rehearsing.

Summer Program – NBB offers a six-week summer program for all levels, from Discovery to Ballet E.  Students from Pre-Ballet III through Ballet E have an opportunity to perform in the end-of-summer program which is open to the public.

Building Healthy Communities Through Dance – Is a three-step program for New Bedford elementary school students to increase socio-economic diversity in ballet. The program consists of (1) free winter/spring classes at NBB, (2) enrollment in NBB’s summer program, and (3) an opportunity to continue dancing at NBB through need-based scholarships.

Week-Long Summer Dance Arts Camps – finances permitting, week-long dance arts camps are offered during the summer for preschool children.

Scholarships/Financial Aid is available!
